Early Years and Apple Founding

1955 - Steve Jobs is born in San Francisco, California. He is adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs and grows up in Mountain View, California. In high school, Jobs meets Steve Wozniak, who will later become his business partner.

1972 - After graduating from high school, Jobs enrolls at Reed College in Oregon but drops out after one semester. He returns to California and takes a job as a technician at Atari.

1974 - Jobs and Wozniak begin working on the Apple I computer in Jobs' parents' garage. They form Apple Computer, Inc. and release the Apple I as a kit for hobbyists.

Apple's Early Success and Turbulent Years

1976 - Apple introduces the Apple II computer, which becomes a huge success.

1980 - Apple goes public, and Jobs becomes a millionaire overnight.

1983 - Jobs recruits John Sculley from PepsiCo to become CEO of Apple. The two clash over management styles, leading to Jobs' ousting from the company the following year.

1985 - Jobs resigns from Apple and founds NeXT Computer, Inc.

Pixar and Return to Apple

1986 - Jobs acquires Pixar Animation Studios from George Lucas for $10 million.

1991 - Jobs marries Laurene Powell in a small ceremony in Yosemite National Park.

1996 - Apple acquires NeXT, and Jobs returns to the company as CEO.

The iPod Era

2001 - Apple introduces the iPod, a digital music player that revolutionizes the music industry.

2003 - Apple launches the iTunes Music Store, allowing users to legally download music online.

2004 - Jobs undergoes surgery for pancreatic cancer.

Apple's Continued Success and Legacy

2007 - Apple introduces the iPhone, a revolutionary smartphone that sets the standard for mobile devices.

2010 - Apple releases the iPad, a tablet computer that quickly becomes a bestseller.

2011 - Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple due to his declining health.

2011 - Steve Jobs passes away on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56. His legacy as a visionary entrepreneur and technology pioneer continues to inspire and influence the world.
